Internet Inspirations: Bride on a Budget

Let's start off November with a bang... a bang for your buck that is! Ashley from over at "Bride on a Budget" is awesome! Ashley is getting married in March of next year and is trying to plan the entire wedding for under $7000. She always has so many helpful tips on saving money and offers lots of giveaways and great ideas! One of my favorite things she does is Thrifty Thursdays where she posts all of the promo codes, free items, and giveaways that she's learned about for that week and posts them all on her blog. There's been a couple of things I've found on there that I've been able to make use of for my wedding! Check out her interview below and then head on over to her blog to become a follower!

Name or Blogger Name: Ashley at Bride on a Budget

Website: http://brideonbudget.blogspot.com

How long have you been blogging?: I started this blog when I got engaged back in December. I had a savings/couponing blog before this one though.

What inspired you to start blogging?: I wanted to help other brides who were planning weddings on a budget. I wanted them to know if was possible and how they could do it. I also love talking about my wedding. :-)

What did you originally blog about and how has that evolved? My blogging hasn't changed too terribly much through the course of this blog. I post a lot more planning secrets now than I did when I first started since I have a lot more experience. I now provide brides with questions to ask vendors and tips and tricks to saving money. When I first started, I only posted about my wedding.

What different types of blogs do you stalk? Wedding blogs mostly. I also stalk couponing and budgeting blogs as well as decorating blogs. I'm a discount and domestic diva at heart.
Three of your favorite blogs?: This is definitely a tough one.
  • Miss Pug's Pawfect Wedding http://misspug.blogspot.com/ -- She's another wedding blogger and also another March 2010 bride. We met on The Knot's message board and we started following each other's blogs. She shows us her ideas and projects as well as her adorable pugs.
  • Money Saving Mom http://www.moneysavingmom.com -- She posts tons of discounts and coupons. If you like to get stuff for free, this is a magnificent site for it. She posts things from food deals to free magazine subscriptions.
  • Thrifty Decor Chick http://www.moneysavingmom.com/money_saving_mom/ -- She DIYs almost her entire house and it looks fantastic. From her love of molding to her bold style, she can definitely give you inspiration to decorate your house.
How many blogs do you think you have in your feeder?: Blogger tells me I have 77, but I'm adding new ones all the time.

What impact has blogging had on you? I've realized how much I love weddings. I love helping people and can talk weddings 24/7. I've also met lots of great friends and made some fantastic business connections.

Additional Blogging Rants: Blogging is definitely a lot of work and there are days when I just don't feel like posting. But I know my readers love to read my work, so I try to post every day. I also get kind of discouraged when my stats are down or when no one comments on a post. I love comments!

Thanks for being a part of this Ashley, don't forget to post your award on your blog and send your readers over to check out your interview!

All of my other readers, I'm on the hunt for some future Internet Inspirations! Would you like to be featured? Drop me an email or even contact me with a blog that you think I should feature!

I'm a new follower of Ashley now...this is such a great thing for you to do with the interview and with helping direct people (especially newbies like me) to additional helpful and inspirational sites!
