50's housewives is the theme, I've slacked big time and not gone out to get my goods yet but I'm going to hit up some thrift stores after work today to try and find some old vintage apron. Then I'll throw together an outfit (have no clue what) and do my hair all pinned up in hot roller curls. All I know is FSIL's MOH is SO creative, and just by the looks of her homemade invites (she is a Paper Source girl!) I'm sure it will be so cute tomorrow. I will be sure take lots of pix to send your way and recap it sometime soon, just incase you get any ideas for yourself in the future!

That is a beautiful picture of this past year's yacht show in Newport harbor. Ooo, a yacht show! Sounds fabulous right? Wrong. Not if you are getting married the same weekend of the yacht show.
When my date was booked in February this was something I never even thought about as being an issue. Well, there is a large community of girls that talk on a forum on the Brides.com website and we are all girls getting married on one of Electra Cruises' yachts. After my date was finally booked a bride asked if I knew when the yacht show was going to be. I instantly started googling the hell out of stuff and saw that the past two year's it's been the same weekend as my wedding is going to be.
I instantly started thinking of all of the bad things that could go wrong -- millions of people, trouble parking, the marina being packed with boats all checking out the yacht show. I just kept thinking of every possible negative thing I could think of.
I started calling around to the yacht companies asking about dates and some even laughed at me for wanting to know well over a year when a yacht show was going to be. They clearly hadn't thought that far ahead since they hadn't even finished the 2009 show first. I also then called my coordinator over at Electra. She of course told me I had nothing to worry about and they have never had any issues. Mama Mojito and Mr. Mojito assure me everything will be a-okay. I'm still annoyed.
Well last week I randomly decided to check the website again and the dates were posted... it's the week of my wedding. *tear* Freakin' sucks, I called my coordinator again and she kept reassuring me that everything will work out fine, there will be signs directing people and everything will work out fine. So I made sure to add to my wedding website to allow extra time to find parking, etc. because of the yacht show. I don't want to be waiting for people and once the yacht leaves the dock you are outta luck if you aren't on the yacht.
My mom says that we are in a resession so there can't possibly be that many people out there looking for these yachts that cost a fortune. But then again I say it's Orange County, and these people don't always know what a recession is. Brad says he thinks it will be cool with all of the different yachts around... I guess my biggest thing is just the crowds.
Ah well, I guess I've vented enough. Have you had an unexpected even happen during your wedding process that has kinda put a damper on things?
So I guess now what I have to do is the following...
- Bride on a Budget
- Budget Savvy Brides Wedding Blog
- Cross Country Wed
- Happily After All
- Love & Lace
- Love, Life, and Laughter with Jenn
- My Carmel Wedding
- Newport Nuptials
- Pink Sass
- Sweets and Life

Ugh, and here goes the full frontal, which in defense to myself looks horrible because it was at least two or three sizes too small. At least you get the idea, and I'm still absolutely in love with it even when I look like crap.
Here is MOH-KC tellin' me to flash the bling, looks great with all the beading and crystals on the dress!
And one of me and MOH-KC for the bridal shop memories, of course. She loves the Maggie Sottero Victoriana just as much as I do I think!
I went to my first Bee Meet-up a few months ago and had a great time, I was with about fifteen or so fabulous girls and bloggers who were planning their wedding and got to also meet Mrs. Frenchie, Mrs. Duckling, and Mrs. Sprinkle. All three fabulous ladies as well. Since then I've become even more involved in the blogging world and have made a few close friends as well that I talk to regularly -- enter Miss Pug from "Miss Pugs Pawfect Wedding" and Stephanie from "I do at the Zoo". I know you have all heard me talk so much about them and that's because I've become such a fan of these two bloggin' babes!
Sad news is -- they are practically across the nation. :( Louisville and Indiana aren't exactly right around the corner from Southern California. Well Stephanie and Miss Pug decided to have their own meet up this past Saturday and I was so sad to not be a part of it... at least that's what I thought, until I saw this post by Miss Pug.
I did make it to the meet up, as did Katie from Random Reflections of a Perfectionist!!
They brought Katie and I to the meet-up as well! Knowing how badly we wish we could have been there (Katie is on the east coast)... Yes I'm aware we are just some precious stick figures, but that doesn't mean nothin! We were totally there!
See here I am, enjoying a Mojito.
Love this pic of me and Stephanie...
Oh gosh, and we had the yummiest cupcakes after lunch!
Haha, that post seriously made my Sunday ladies and I only hope to be able to meet you guys one day as well as so many other readers that I've become friends with over the past couple months.
Have you made any friends through your blogging community? How about some real life meet-ups?

Some of you may have checked out Danielle's blog last week when I sent you over there to check out the giveaway she was having on the cutest apron! If you didn't, get to know her a little bit in her interview below and then head on over to her blog! I just discovered her blog a couple of weeks ago, but she has some great stuff on her blog... that's why she is this weeks Internet Inspiration! Congrats Danielle!
Name or Blogger Name: Living in the 'burbs with the Lenz's
How long have you been blogging? About a year. The first time I started I got maybe about 6 posts done. I was just figuring out how it worked and how to jazz up my page when WHOOSH...everything was gone. I couldn't believe I deleted the entire thing! So I started back up at the beginning of November last year. Wow, I can't believe how quickly time has flown by!
What inspired you to start blogging? Chris and I had just become newlyweds in the summer of 2008. I wanted to mark our journey along the way and I thought that this was the perfect way to do it. Not only did I get to enjoy writing it but it was a way to keep my family and friends in the loop of what's going on in our world.
What did you originally blog about and how has that evolved? I was so new to the blogging world and I didn't really know what direction I wanted to go in other than to just fill people in with whats going on. I talked about the fun events we did on the weekends and what we had planned. This year has been very eventful though, we were both in a wedding, we bought our very first house and are in the process of making it a home, we just got a new pup and with the holidays quickly approaching there has been plenty to talk about. Nothing has really changed other than the fact that I blog so much more than I did before. It's very addicting! I mean, Facebook, what is that?! jk But I find that blogging is so much more rewarding and it's great to find other people out there that are going through the same things we are.
What different types of blogs do you stalk? I am all across the board! I love newlywed blogs, home decor, fashion, savings, cooking, families and just about anything that catches my attention.
Three of your favorite blogs? wow this one is tough...besides my closest friends blogs I really enjoy:
- The Meanest Mom http://themeanestmom.blogspot.com/ - if I am having a rough day I know that I can go here and get a good laugh. She talks about her life as a mom and is brutally honest and I love it!
- The Seattle Smiths http://kelseyandgabriel.blogspot.com/ - every Wednesday she has this great event called Wishful Wednesday's and each week is a different topic. For instance this week was vaca. You can pick anywhere you would dream to go and post about it. I love it and look forward to it each week!
- Fantabulously Frugal http://www.fantabulouslyfrugal.com/ - I am a girl on a budget and I love a good bargain, like most of us are these days. She posts some of the most amazing sales, coupons and freebies going on all over the web. My husband has his Slick Deals and I have this!
How many blogs do you think you have in your feeder? Too many to count.
What impact has blogging had on you? Blogging has really become something that I look forward to everyday. Getting to share our journey and thoughts has been exciting and I hope to one day make a personal scrapbook with it. But what has really been rewarding is getting to know so many amazing ladies all over. Some of these women I will never be able to meet in person but feel as though we are close friends. It's opened my eyes to new ideas and so many possibilities.
Additional Blogging Rants: I must admit that there are some days that I am just not up for posting or I am going through a rut. But I still enjoy reading others! Thanks so much for being a part of this Danielle! It was great chatting with you over this past week and I've just been loving the blog. Congrats on the new addition to your family as well!
Don't forget to post on your blog your Internet Inspiration award and link heading to this post so your readers can check out your interview!
P.S. Want to be one of the Internet Inspirations or would you like to nominate someone? Shoot me an email!

Find something you've been wanting.
Enter this code: BRIDECASH
It's for $10 off any $10+ purchase! Those are always my favorite when there isn't a minimum. I'm using this opportunity to get my Cocktail napkins we've been wanting, they will only be $10 now for $100!
I am going to do the fuchsia napkins with white ink. They will say "The Perfect Pair" have a pair of flip flops, and then our names and/or wedding date underneath! I've always loved the "Eat, Drink, and be Married" theme but I figure this flip flop thing goes with our whole tropical feel we are having on the yacht.
*UPDATE* Just went to pay for my napkins, be advised S&H is a little pricey, it's basically like getting Free Shipping because shipping was $11!
Ugh, just love them all! They are so cute!

Anyways, so it made me want to take a trip down memory lane. Unfortunately, we didn't do emails when we would write back and forth it was My Space. But a couple months after we met, Mr. Mojito deleted his My Space so it deleted all of the letters I had saved from him. Gosh, I really wish I would have printed them out, but I didn't think that when you delete your profile it deletes anything that was in existence with you.
So rather then telling you some cute things Mr. Mojito wrote to me when we first met, I will share a couple "first encounter" moments with you.
This was the epic first pic that Mr. Mojito and I took together, everyone has this one pic that's important. We have this pic framed in our house. This was our second date and we went to the Annual San Dimas Rodeo and out to dinner.
A couple weeks after I met Mr. Mojito, when I see this pic I remember this was the day I went to his parents house for the first time to meet his family and we had a pumpkin carving contest!
Another date within the first few weeks we met. We went to the Long Beach Aquarium and then rented a Surry and drove all around the beach.
Our first trip together, and the start of many! For my birthday he took me to Sea World and we stayed the weekend in a fabulous suite at the Hyatt in San Diego! We went to dinner at a great restaurant then headed back to our balcony with a bottle of champagne to count down the New Year!
The first few months we were together he lived so far (I know I'm a winer, it was really only an hour and a half), we would meet on Friday nites after work for the horse races at Hollywood Park and have $1 Hot Dogs and $1 Beer.
I could seriously go on and on forever, reminising about so many good times we had the first few months we were together. I remember after our first date we weren't planning on seeing eachother until the following weekend but that was just impossible. It only took that one date for us to become completely inseperable.

Mr. Mojito and I found something we instantly loved. We had no idea what we were planning on doing for our big boy and big girl room but when we saw this furniture we decided we wanted to base it all off of this line at Ikea. It's called the Hopen line and comes in a couple of colors, we are getting the brown-black. We just love the foggy glass with it.
There are all sorts of pieces that match, we will be getting the king size bed frame, two night stands, the four drawer dresser (for Mr. M) and the eight drawer dresser (for Miss M of course).
For all five pieces it was going to cost around $850 with tax, not too bad I guess for an entire makeover in the master bedroom. Then I realized yesterday, uhm helloooo, IKEA gives 20% off with a College Student ID. Score. I think this will be something we will start buying (even if it's one piece at a time) as soon as we pay our couches off which should be done in the next week or two.
Good news is, is our current bedroom is an apple green color so I think it would go great with the paint color, and I'm thinking of possible this comforter from Crate and Barrel to go with it.... ok went to the Crate and Barrel website and can't find it now. Of course... but did run into this one that I really love and think would look killer...
I think the furniture will leave room for any type of color scheme or theme... It will tend to look more brown when with neutral tones and more black when with the darker theme... which is good because I like to change up my bedroom somewhat often and haven't been able to since I moved into our new house -- our room is a tropical theme at the moment. Surprisingly though, all of the picking out of different furniture and bedroom accessories has been a lot easier then I thought with Mr. Mojito! We have agreed on just about everything!
Did you and the mister agree quickly on things? Did you get to just pick things all on your own?
